Inside the Police Station                   Night

Three women are at the reception desk of a police station. They are visibly upset and talking loudly.

POLICE OFFICER

(Interrupting the women)

Can I help you?


WOMAN 1

We've been robbed!

WOMAN 2

By street children!


WOMAN 3

They took our bags!


POLICE OFFICER

(Sighing) This again.


DETECTIVE

(A detective enters the scene).

What's going on here?



POLICE OFFICER

These women say they were robbed by street children.


DETECTIVE

(To the women)Can you tell me more about what happened?

(The women recount their story, which is full of inconsistencies and contradictions) . (Interrupting the women) Thank you for your information. We'll do our best to find the people who robbed you.

 (The women nod and leave the police station).




DETECTIVE

(To the police officer) I want you to put out an APB for all street children in the area. We need to get these kids off the streets before they hurt someone.

POLICE OFFICER

Yes, sir. (The police officer leaves. The detective sits down at his desk and sighs. He knows that this is just the beginning of a long night.
